Produce Show 2023 Entry is still free for 2023! Competitors may submit ONEentry per class. Children may enter any adult class. Certificates and prizes will be awarded to the first 3 places in each class (£3, £2, £1 respectively). 1st place in each class will go forward to Best in Section, the winner receiving a prize. The winner of each section will go forward to Best in Show, the winner receiving a prize and trophy, and the runner up a prize. Entries to be submitted at the Produce Marquee on the morning of Village Day between 9.30am and 10.45am. Best in section, best in show and runner up prize giving will be in the main arena. Class prizes to be picked up from produce tent. Judges decision is final. Entries must be collected between 3.00 & 3.30pm. After 3.30pm they will be given away as we have no space for storage.
2023 Classes
Section 1 – Vegetables, Fruit & Herbs Must be home grown and in your possession for minimum of 2 months before show. Please bring plates/napkins etc for display. ClassItem 1. 4 potatoes: any variety/colour. 2. 5 runner beans with stalks. 3. 3 onions. 4. 4 tomatoes with calyx/stalk. 5. 3 Courgettes. 6. Longest runner bean. 7. Any root vegetable. (max 3). 8. Any other vegetable not mentioned above. Max 3. 9 . Any fruit: please name. (Enough to judge) 10. 3 varieties of culinary herbs.
Section 2 – Flowers Must be home grown and in your possession for minimum of 2 months before show. Total maximum height 70cm. Class Item 11. A posy of mixed garden flowers/foliage. 12. One perfect bloom. 13. A table flower arrangement. Max 30cm x 30cm (14” x 14”)
Section 3 – Food Must be homemade. Apart from class 15, no other accompanying information can be accepted. Class Item 14. Victoria sandwich cake: You must use our recipe. (click here for recipe) 15. New! Sweet Vegan Delight - NO animal products e.g. dairy, eggs, milk chocolate etc. Please list ingredients. 16. Savoury quiche. 17. New! Homemade bread - any variety. 18. Sweet or Savoury preserve: jam, conserve, jelly, marmalade, chutney, pickle or savoury jelly. 19 New! Sweet or Savoury Scones (Max 3)
Section 4: For Children & Young Adults Maximum age 16. Please state age. Class Item 20. New! Design your own form of Transport from fruit & vegetables. 21. 3 best decorated fairy cakes on a plate.
Section 5: Arts and Crafts Must be your own work and not from a kit. Crafts can be anything you have made or produced, such as woodwork, knitting, jewellery etc. Max size: 46cm x 46cm (18” x 18”). Please give details of your entry. If under 16, please state age. Class Item 22. Paintings and drawings. 23. Hard Crafts. 24. Soft Crafts.
